FAQ's
Please see below for our most frequently asked questions! Please contact us if you have further questions.
1.) Q: Do you offer live classes or teachers?
A: At this time we do not offer live classes or teachers. All of our curriculum is designed for a home educator and child able to self-direct their education. We offer streaming/DVD/workbook based education from a variety of curated and trusted sources. Some streaming options do feel like a live classroom with a teacher leading the education. However, we are working on partnering with local Prenda Pod or KiaPod learning options to further expend and enhance our curriculum options.

2.) Q: What makes Southwestern Waypoint Education qualified to recommend curriculum?
A: All of our Waypoint leads have over a decade of education experience in either home education or private schools. We do not offer any curriculum based on kickbacks, discounts or favored status; our curriculum choices are only based on your child's individual education needs. However, we recognize that Southwestern Waypoint is not for every child or family and we encourage families to carefully choose their education curriculum and explore all options.

3.) Q: Do you offer any type of guarantee on your curriculum?
A: Yes. If, after 90 days of home education, you are not satisfied with your initial curriculum purchases then will offer a second curriculum free of charge. However all sales are final and no refunds will be issued.

4.) Q: I have been in home education for many years - what could you offer my child?
A: Southwestern Waypoint education is mainly focused on helping families starting their home education journey, or families that are have reached their home education knowledge limits. For example: Is your child entering middle school and you are not sure what specific curriculum is would be the strongest in preparing them for high school? We can help!

5.) Q: Do you accept state education vouchers?
A: As of July 2024, we no longer accept direct pay education vouchers. Unfortunately, many states do not pay invoices in a timely manner. This has resulted in parents having to delay education schedules. However, in states that allow reimbursement, parents can pay us directly, we will give them a paid invoice, and they can submit it to their state for reimbursement. We will continue to evaluate this policy on a year to year basis.

6.) Q: Do you offer in person study groups or Zoom study sessions?
A: At this time we do not. However, we are working on partnering with local Prenda Pod or KiaPod learning options to further expend and enhance our curriculum options.

7.) Q: What do you need from me to choose the curriculum from my child?
A: Please be prepared to discuss your home education experience, your goals, your child's strengths and weaknesses, your child's education journey, and any political or religious restrictions.

8.) Q: How long will it take to receive my curriculum after we purchase it?
A: Currently it can take between 6-10 weeks for you to receive it, based on your location, the time of year and specific choices. We encourage parents to contact us in the early summer so they are ready to start in the fall.

9.) Q: Do you receive any funding from curriculum providers, lobbyists, or other outside sources?
A: We do not currently receive any funding from outside sources with a commercial or financial interest in education. We have previously received some small grants from non-profits dedicated to increasing home education,

10.) Q: Why don't you list all your curriculum options so I can purchase them on your site? Why won't you tell me the options before we purchase? Why do I have to discuss my child and their education before I purchase?
A: Southwestern Waypoint Education offers a broad variety of curriculum options. The cost of our education options is based on the curriculum cost (which varies) but also based on a propriety questionnaire and blend of decades of education experience from our Waypoint leads. This is why we need to review your child's education journey before we recommend curriculum, we want to tailor the options based on each child - we are not a one-size fits all like Amazon. We are confident, based upon our multi-level, comprehensive, propriety, education questionnaire that we can help you make the right choice for your child.
